Tunisian Norms and the SWH Testing Procedures (2009)
Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on January 18, 2012This is a presentation delivered by Mr. Rafik Zaiane a Tunisian ministry official, during the Regional Workshop on Standardization and Certification of Solar Water Heaters organized by the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) in Tunisia.
Following governmental policies in support of renewable energy sources, the SWH market in Tunisia has developed extensively, leading to the need of establishing official standards and testing methods in order to ensure the high quality of these products. The result was the creation of an official testing laboratory, as well as national standards similar to those existing in the EN/ISO framework. Each type of available system can be therefore tested according to an internationally recognized method.
Data acquired during testing is then processed with the help of the INSITU programme in order to assess the performances and durability of SWH systems.
