The SWH Financial Modelling Tool is a spread-sheet modelling tool which can be used to calculate the life cycle cost savings of a Solar Water Heater (SWH) unit and the national monetary benefits and energy savings of installing multiple SWHs systems.
The tool was developed for the following objectives:
- Give consumers an insight on the life cycle cost of obtaining a SWH system.
- Reveal the factors affecting expected energy savings and monetary benefits, such as equipment prices and energy prices.
- Highlight both financial benefits and energy savings
This tool has been developed by the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) under the Global Solar Water Heating (GSWH) Market Transformation and Strengthening Initiative (GSWH Project), a joint initiative undertaken by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and it is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) m with co-financing by the International Copper Association (ICA).
