Solar Heating Entry Level Learning Objectives (2011)

This following is a document from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) that lays out potential “Learning Objectives” for an entry level solar thermal installer certification course. The document identifies 6 main areas of learning, and gives an outline on how to possible grade an exam based on these criteria.

The 6 main areas of focus are: site and load analysis, safety and standards, climates and applications, operation and installation, components and materials, maintenance. Each area of study is broken down into bullet points that describe the item of knowledge that a potential student should be trained and examined on. This document would be of interest to anyone who is interested in either the basics of solar thermal installation, or anyone serving in an educational role for solar thermal.
