Savings from Heating with Solar Air (2009)

This document was created and published by Gerald van Decker of the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA). It provides information on what kind of savings can be expected from installing solar thermal air heating systems. For more information on solar thermal incentives please visit here.

The costs of installing solar thermal air heating systems are dependent on the size of space that the system needs to provide heated air for; with systems for larger spaces being more expensive. Because climate patterns across Canada can vary so widely, there is a large range of possibilities for projected savings. However, the Canadian government offers consumers an incentive with the Renewable Energy Deployment Initiative (REDI), and a tax depreciation for commercial installations.
