Breakthroughs in solar water heating: Energy collection and storage (2010)
Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on June 14, 2015This presentation was created and published by Sisyan Solar Water Heating. It provides information on advances and breakthroughs the company has accomplished and is pursuing in storage for solar thermal water heating.
The presentation argues that storage is the key to creating a better economic proposition for large scale thermal systems. Sisyan sought to create a way to collect and store more thermal energy without causing overheating. They have begun to do this with a low‐pressure energy collection system that operates at < 2psi compared to >20psi for a traditional collector. This system has the added benefits of causing no damages from overheating, being immune to freezing, and providing for a lower cost of installation.
