Best Practice Policies to Develop Renewable Heat Markets (2004)
Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on September 17, 2010This document is one the deliverables of the REACT Project (renewable energy in action). The project aimed at developing innovative, nationally adapted policies and programs for a faster and more cost effective market introduction of renewable energies.
The report goes through the main RES technologies used for heating: solar thermal, biomass, geothermal and environmental heat. In 2002, biomass was the RES technology used for heating with higher penetration rate in the EU 15 (42%).
The document includes the best case studies of successful policies to introduce RES heat resources into heat markets and concludes with best practices on how to create and implement policies on the topic.
