This article was published in the International Journal of Energy of the North Atlantic University Union. It advocates for the solar generation of thermal energy and its use for buildings and domestic water heating in Romania.
After presenting Romaniaâs potential regarding this renewable source of energy, the article describes both different types of solar equipment and system while at the same time developing a mathematical model for output analysis of the solar heating systems. In addition, this paper provides a review of the available cooling technologies assisted by solar energy and their recent advances.
Researchers conclude that the efficiency of solar heating systems is directly determined by collector surface, storage tank volume and storage period, and that efficiency levels increase in the case of buildings with low energy demand for heating.
