Active Solar Thermal Energy Applications in Buildings (2014)

This presentation was prepared by Xavier Dubuisson and presented at the Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction, in Armenia. The presentation is part of the Inogate Project, a regional energy cooperation programme between the European Union and 11 partner countries in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia.

The document presents the potential of solar thermal energy in Armenia and suggests the optimal inclination of panels in every season. The presentation introduces also the different systems and components of solar thermal systems, providing graphs, figures, technical details and detailed explanations for storage tanks, solar circuits, pumping stations, heat exchangers. Vacuum tubes are compared to flat plate collectors. Finally, the document provides graphics and explanations on thermosyphon systems.
