SHC 2017 / Maria Wall: Solar Energy in Urban Planning
Submitted by Baerbel Epp on November 22, 2017In ancient Rome, urban citizens had a "right to light" that was limiting the densification of cities to get sufficient daylight and also natural ventilation. With electric lighting and mechanical ventilation, this got forgotten. Maria Wall explains why the increasing use of solar energy and daylight makes it necessary to include solar access conditions in urban planning.
This video was filmed during the Solar Heating and Cooling Conference (SHC 2017) in Abu Dhabi in November 2017.
