Dear Solarthermalworld.org reader,
All
around the world, solar associations have recently had a hard time
lobbying for fair and transparent policies when it comes to solar
thermal technology. The worst example at the moment is the Czech
Republic, whose biomass and heat pump incentives have put solar water
heaters at a disadvantage in several areas. The country’s first tender
round is also expected to close rather sooner than later due to a lack
of funding, leaving customers on hold again (click here to read more).
In
South Africa, solar suppliers have suffered from major policy
announcements followed by a much less consistent implementation. The
latest publication provides a plan for subsidising 650,000 SWH systems
(520,000 low-pressure and 130,000 high-pressure systems) between 1 April
2013 and 31 March 2015, such as the ones on the photo. Instead of being
busy with mounting, however, system providers have been occupied with
tenders or information requests.
Solar thermal needs your support. Good luck with lobbying for the pressing issues of today!
Best regards,
The editorial team
