Solar Thermal Energy Production: The Next Generation (2007)

This presentation was creating by Jeff Curry of Lakeland Electric, and was first presented at the 2007 Southeast Solar Summit hosted by the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. It focuses on a solar thermal hot water heating utility offered to residential homes in Florida. A Lakeland Electric utility in Florida offers area homeowners the choice of solar thermal hot water heating for their homes. Offered to homeowners is a separate line item on the bill to see how much they are spending, the option of green pricing and free installation and maintenance. The program was analyzed through the Florida Integrated Resource Evaluator (F.I.R.E. model) which looks at the value of a program through the benefits to consumers, society and the utility itself.
