Advanced Thermal Solar System with Heat Storage for Residential House Space Heating (2005)

This report was written by Kazimierz Szymocha of the Alberta Research Council. It reports on their prototype solar thermal air heating and storage system.

The system in question is both a space heating installation and a direct heat storage system. It stores heated air during the day and then releases it at night.

The results of the testing indicated, as described in the report, that the system can reduce space heating energy consumption by up to 50% in the winter months in comparison to traditional space heating technologies.
