The Energex Africa 2011 will take place at the Gallagher Convention Center in Johannesburg from 7 to 9 June. The trade fair will present the achievements and novelties in the field of solar thermal, PV, biomass, wind power, hydro power, and energy efficiency.
The South African Minister of Energy, Ms. Dipuo Peters, has officially confirmed her support for the exhibition. In previous media reports she said that Government acknowledges that renewable energy has the potential to make a substantial contribution to energy supply security and has identified targets for renewable energy options within the Integrated Resource Plan (IRP.) Renewable energy feed in tariffs designed to attract investors who will enjoy guaranteed tariffs for 20 years was promulgated including wind, solar, bio-mass and mini-hydro.
