3. Brazilian Solar Energy Congress (III CBENS), Belem

Start Date:
21 September 2010
End Date:
24 September 2010

The third Brazilian Solar Energy Congress (III CBENS) is going to take place in the city of Belem in the northern state of Pará from 21 to 24 September 2010. The annual event, which always takes place at a different location every year, aims at promoting the exchange of information and experiences between universities, research institutes, companies, government agencies, professionals in the renewable energy sector and civil associations. Its schedule includes presentations of technical and scientific papers, also by invited guest speakers, round tables discussions, as well as workshops. The conference comes with a small exhibition, which included 30 exhibitors at the last conference.

The II CBENS in November 2008 was held together with the Latin American Regional conference (ISES-CLA) in Florianópolis in the state of Santa Catarina. It was attended by around 400 participants. The focus of CBENS is science and technology, but discussions about energy policies and economic feasibility or renewable energy technologies in Brazil and other Latin American countries take place at it, too.

This year’s location, Belem, is the 5th largest metropolitan area in Brazil and is located near the Amazon delta with its beautiful sand beaches and a rich fauna and flora. The conference programme is going to be drafted soon and is said to be published in August.
