Overview of Solar Water Heating Inputs, Data Sources, and Potential Study Results (2012)

This report comes from The Cadmus Group, and provides information on the organizations research into and plans for expanding the use of solar thermal water heating throughout the Pacific North-West United States. It is a good example of how businesses are approaching the solar thermal market moving forward, and what successes and obstacles they see in the future.

Program Handbook: California Solar Initiative - Thermal (2012)

This is the updated program handbook for the Thermal Program of the California Solar Initiative. It is the first update since 2010, and features revised steps for various groups to participate in the program. Further information on solar thermal incentives can be found here. The application revisions apply primarily to single-family and multi-family residences. Also revised are the application steps for natural gas displacing systems and systems that replaced electric/propane systems.

The Handbook covers the background and purpose of the program, what consumers and organizations can participate, and what kind of equipment and technology falls under the purview of the program. DOE Solar Water Heating Market Expansion Workshop (2007)

This document was created and published by Jane Weismann of the Interstate Renewable Energy Council. It reports on different efforts focused on expanding the workforce and accreditations of solar thermal and solar energy installers. The North America Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) was one of the first and most established organizations to offer solar thermal certifications, starting in 2006.
