Supply Procurement Notice (2009)

Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on April 6, 2015

The document is to describe a contract for supply of infrastructure and equipment for testing of solar thermal and institutional photovoltaic (PV) systems.  The contract authority is the Project Task Force (PTF) of the “Renewable Energy Project (REP)”, in Lalitpur, Nepal for and on behalf of the Alternative Energy Promotion Center.

Resolution E-4188 (2008)

Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on April 6, 2015

This document from the Public Utilities Commission of the State of California is an approval of a renewable portfolio standard power purchase agreement with Gaskell SunTower, LLC (Gaskell), owned by eSolar.  This contract complies with the Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) procurement guidelines.  Gaskell SunTower, (LLC) is a new solar thermal generating facility being developed by eSolar.

Solar Energy Virgin Islands Energy Office (2011)

Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on April 6, 2015

Every day the sun radiates an enormous amount of energy.  The sun radiates more energy in one second than people have used since the beginning of time.  Solar Thermal power is heat energy obtained by exposing a collecting device to the rays of the sun.  A solar thermal system makes use of the warmth absorbed by the collector to heat water or another working fluid, or to make steam.  Hot water is used in homes or commercial buildings and for industrial processes.

Solar Energy in Spain (2009)

Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on April 6, 2015

The solar potential in Spain is the highest in Europe because of its privileged location and climate.  Solar energy offers many advantages with respect to conventional energy, since it deals with a stream of energy that is free, clean and limitless.

SOLARGENIX ENERGY, LLC Proposed Guidelines for Implementing California’s Renewables Portfolio Standard (RPS). (2004)

Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on April 6, 2015

Solar thermal generation (with gas assist) has been shown to be cost competitive when compared to other similar fossil technologies providing comparable products, i.e. firm on-peak capacity and energy.  The recently published CEC Cost Comparison Report concluded that, essentially, solar thermal generation with gas assist is cost competitive to combustion turbine technology when used in the same application (firm peaking).

Solar Thermal Mayo Energy Agency Ltd. (Date no Specified)

Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on April 6, 2015

Since the beginning of time, the sun has been the source of energy and life on earth. It is a huge nuclear reactor, at 6,000 ºC, which provides our planet with heat and light. A solar water heater is an efficient and reliable technology that converts sunlight into heat to produce your hot water.  Solar thermal technology is for water heating. Active space (or air) heating for large buildings can also be achieved by solar ventilation systems.

Geothermal (Ground Source Heat Pumps) and Solar Thermal Hybrid System (2004)

Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on March 29, 2015

This document was prepared by Steven Forrester for DMA Engineering and discusses the problems with Geothermal (Ground Source Heat Pumps) and offers a solution. Use solar thermal in correlation with geothermal in a hybrid model.

Solar Thermal Power: The Science and Technology of Solar Thermal Power in Africa (2009)

Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on March 29, 2015

This article was written by Daniel Schäfer who is a student studying Physics and Mathematics at the Justus-Liebig-University Giessen in Germany.  It provides information on the possibilities surrounding solar thermal energy in North Africa.

Solar Thermal Energy 2025 (2010) Clean Electricity on demand: attractive STE cost stabilize energy production

Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on March 29, 2015

This document was created by A.T. Kearney, a global management consulting firm.  The report is an industry roadmap that is the result of research into the future of the solar thermal industry conducted through a survey of various international solar thermal actors across the industry.
