India: First Manufacturer with CDM PoA Project

Bengaluru-based Nuetech Solar Systems, successfully registered its Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Programme of Activities (PoA) with the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) on 31 December 2012, the last date for registration under the Kyoto Protocol. This has made it the first and only manufacturer of solar water heaters in India to have registered a CDM PoA project. The first Indian solar thermal CDM project ever was registered by Indian developer G.K. Energy Marketers in November 2010.

SASSA Low-Pressure Solar Water Heater Programme (2011)

This presentation describes the Supplier Solar Academy of Sub-Saharan Africa’s planned project to install low-pressure solar water heaters (SWHs) in low-income households throughout South Africa. The SWHs installed under the project - which takes advantage of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) - will typically be 110 litre storage tank low pressure SWHs with a collector area of 1.08m2.

Tunisia: CDM to fund Solar Water Heaters

 Biome installations in Tunisia After three years of preparation, the first Tunisian Programme of Activities (PoAs) for solar water heating was registered successfully with the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in April 2011. It is only the second African PoA focusing exclusively on solar water heaters after the “SASSA Low Pressure Solar Water Heater Programme” in South Africa, which started in March 2011.
