The fact sheet focuses on financing options, rebates and incentives that encourage solar thermal water heating adoption, including the CSI Thermal Rebate Program in California. The CSI Thermal Rebate program directly provides financing money to business and residences in California in an effort to offset the use of natural gas.

This is a progress report on the California Solar Initiative (CSI) Thermal Program, covering October 1, 2010 through March 31, 2011. It was prepared by the California Center for Sustainable Energy (CCSE) on behalf of the CSI Thermal Program Administrators. More information on the CSI Thermal Program and similar solar thermal incentive programs can be found here. The report covers Quarter 4 of 2010 and Quarter 1 of 2011, as the Program Administrators were still engaged in ramp up activities during this time frame.

Solar Trends in Canada: Linking Demand to the Supply Chain (2010)

This document was created and published by David Eisenbud of the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA).  It reports on Canada’s energy situation and how solar thermal fits into the mix. Canada does not have a comprehensive national renewable energy plan, due partially to the fact that Canada is rich in oil and gas resources, according to the presentation. However solar does work in Canada, and is both scalable and growing domestically.

Liberty Box Testing Results (2012)

This document was created and published by the City of Tallahassee, Florida. It reports on the City’s use of a “Liberty Box”, which is a solar thermal system that provides power to water heaters. The technology was created by Energy Design Solutions, and was tested on an apartment complex in Tallahassee. Since the system utilizes wiring and not piping like a normal solar thermal system, the team was able to outfit the 2nd floor of the apartment building which can often prove difficult.

Milwaukee Solar Partnership (2012)
