Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on May 14, 2012

This report evaluates the progress of the SOLTRAIN project in Southern Africa in the period 2009-2011. The project’s initiation was covered by solarthermalworld.org back in 2009, and is available here.

Trainenergy Project. Module 9. Renewable Energy Systems (2011)

Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on October 21, 2011

The Trainenergy project ran from September 2009 to September 2011, with the objective to produce a training programme about the EU Energy Performance of Building and the Energy End-Use Efficiency and Energy Services Directives for tradesmen in the construction industry. The project was run in Ireland, UK, France, Germany, Spain and Denmark. This module presents the best renewable sources that offer heating at virtually zero carbon emissions, solar water heating being the first technology to be assessed.

Switch to a Better Future. Accredited Dimplex Renewables Installer and Training Scheme (2009)

Solar Air Conditioning Course (2008)

Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on April 20, 2010

This presentation from the Canary Islands Technological Institute (Instituto Tecnológico de Canarias S.A.) in Spain is an example of a presentation outlining and promoting the structure of solar air conditioning training courses.

The presentation goes through the content of the courses, which are integrated in the framework of the SOLCO Project (Removal of non-Technological Barriers to Solar Cooling Technology across Southern European Islands).

Morocco Country Paper in the Field of Certification and Standardization of SWHs (2009)

Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on April 2, 2010

Two representatives of the CDER (Moroccan Centre for the Development of Renewable Energies) gave a presentation during the Regional Workshop on SWH Certification and Standardization organised by RCREEE (Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency).

The presentation provided an overview of the certification and standardisation processes and authorities in Morocco. The local governments are trying to increase the use of the renewable energy sources. It is expected that 42% of electricity will be generated from renewable energy sources, from which 14% solar, by 2020
