Pakistan: UNIDO Suggests Policies for Renewables in Industrial Applications

At the request of the Pakistani government, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) has launched a project titled Sustainable Energy Initiative for Industries in Pakistan to promote the adoption of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies and services in Pakistan’s industries. But despite the country’s great energy demand and huge solar potential, the study says little about solar thermal usage 
 

Florida Power & Light Residential Solar Water Heating Pilot Program Standards (2011)

This manual details the program standards for the Residential Solar Water Heating Pilot Program of Florida Power & Lights (FPL). It includes information on the goals of the program, as well as the installation and reporting requirements that are necessary to be eligible. Jamaica Public Service Commercial Solar Water Heating Programme (2008)

This powerpoint presentation evaluates the  ‘Jamaica Public Service Commercial Solar Water Heating Programme’, which was initiated by the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) as part of their wider Demand Side Management (DSM) programme. Started in 2006, this project looked to demonstrate the technical and financial feasibility of key renewable energy technologies and to establish an approach and model for future programmes.

Solar Thermal Technology Research and Development (2010)

This is a presentation from Dr Ashvini Kumar, Director of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy of India.

It provides an overview about main market applications of solar thermal energy: solar heating, solar cooking, cooling, drying, industrial process heat, etc. The presentation also touches upon issues such as R&D policies and the main pillars of the Indian government’ strategy on this regard.

Lastly the presentation refers some projects involving these technologies which are under implementation in Bombay, Bangalore, Udaipur and New Delhi.
