Analysis of a Closed Loop Solar Energy System Using the -f Chart Method: Effect of Different Brazilian Locations (2013)

This study, conducted by Alexandre M.S. Costa of the State University of Maringá and published by the State University of Ponta Grossa in Brazil, analyzes the annual energy performance of a closed-loop hot water solar thermal system under various weather conditions in 6 Brazilian cities (Curitiba, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Salvador and Brasília) using the -f chart method. This method is based on 2 different approaches. It calculates the fraction (f) of monthly heat load that comes from solar energy.

Performance Analysis of a Solar Heating System Coupled to a Heat Pump for Building Renovation Purposes (2009)

The paper was presented by Mr. Jacques Bony and Mr. Stéphane Citherlet from the Laboratory of Solar Energetics and Buildings Physics (Switzerland) in the framework of Task 44 of the IEA Solar Heating and Cooling Programme. It presents the energy and economic performances of facilities coupling heat pumps with air heater equipped with solar thermal collectors. The study was done employing a TRNSYS-type dynamic simulation.

Technical Specifications for Solar Energy Installations (2010)

The Decree No. 314/010 was issued by the Uruguayan authorities with the purpose of outlining the minimal technical conditions to be met by solar thermal installations. It regulates the use of these technologies, also serving as a guideline for all users, with a main focus on durability, reliability and security requirements.

New Zealand Report:An Inspection of Solar Water Heater Installations (2007)

The New Zealand Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) and Building Research commissioned BRANZ to undertake an independent research study on the quality of solar water heaters in New Zealand, in terms of installation quality, energy performance and durability.

Conclusions of the study point out that in terms of quality, the systems analysed are very diverse, which denotes that there is still some issues in the application of standard practices.
