solar heat for industrial processes
This presentation was presented at the 2014 UC Solar Research Symposium held in San Francisco at the University of California on 17 October 2014. The author of this Solar Heat for Industrial Processes Project is Professor Roland Winston, Director of the Advanced Solar Technologies Institute at the University of California Merced.
The objective of this technical report is to provide an overview of the state of the art of Solar Heat for Industrial Processes (SHIP), to describe the main technologies existing worldwide, particularly in the Mediterranean, and give recommendations aimed at supporting the spread of this technology. Although there is a very limited penetration of solar technologies in the industrial sector, there is a great untapped potential.
This is a presentation made by Harald Drück during the International Conference on Process Heat of March 2011 in Austria.
The presentation includes data about the use of solar heat for industrial processes (SHIP) in Germany with concrete examples of companies like Steinbach and Vollmann, Alanod, the Hofmühl brewery, among others.
