Current Status of Solar Thermal Power in California (2010)

This presentation from San Diego State University reviews the status of solar thermal energy in California. Parabolic troughs, linear Fresnel, central tower receivers, and parabolic dishes are all discussed as the present solar thermal methods in California. The Rankine, Stirling, and Brayton Cycles are visually represented and discussed in the presentation as well.

Lebanon’s First National Survey Study of the Solar Water Heaters Market (2014)

This survey study on Lebanon’s solar water heaters market, conducted by the company Amer Nielsen, was funded by the Global Environment Funds under the Global Solar Water Heating and Market Transformation and Strengthening Initiative project, and was supervised by the United Nations Development Programme and the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation.

Solar Thermal Energy for Cooling and Refrigeration: Status and Perspectives (2012)

This presentation - given by TECSOL’s Daniel Mugnier at the 2012 Intersolar fair in Munich - gives an overview of recent technological developments in Solar Cooling, and an outlook for the progress that still needs to be made in the future.  This is made in the framework of Task 48 of the IEA Solar Heating and Cooling Program. Portugal: Ambitious National Targets for Solar Thermal

The European renewable energy directive states an ambitious national target for Portugal: The southern European country is to reach a renewable energy share of 31 % in its total energy demand for 2020. At the same time, the government has shown a strong commitment to renewable energy technology: It is determined to be among the five leading European countries when it comes to exporting solar and wind technology.
