Solar Thermal Energy in Delaware (2007)

This presentation was created by the Delaware Million Solar Roofs Coalition, an association that advocates for the use of solar energy, renewable energy and energy efficiency.  The presentation was used to inform people in Delaware on the basics of solar thermal energy.

To begin, the differences between solar thermal technology and solar pv technology are looked at.  This includes the physical characteristics, economics of, and worldwide installed capacity.  Then the presentation examines the potential for solar thermal energy deployment in the state of Delaware.

Case Study on Measures to Support Solar Water Heating (2007)

This paper was prepared by the research center, LEPII, and the World Energy Council in 2007. The report breaks down the total installation capacity, worldwide and identifies the largest installing countries in the world by per capita, cost and total systems. It also includes case studies on individual countries including Austria, China and Mexico. The case studies define the market, barriers, incentive measures and main issues. Te main issues talk about market growth and what’s stunting it or what is needed to grow it further.

The Argentina Ministry of Energy published this report in 2008. The publication provides an overview on solar energy including PV and thermal. The document reviews both technologies, explaining its applications, advantages, existing legislation and potential uses in Argentina.  

The report identifies as main barriers to the further development of solar in Argentina the legislation and the institutional framework, the financial incentives as well as the lack of social and technical infrastructures and knowledge.
