Farinha Mendes, and Maria João Carvalho of Portugal’s Department of Renewable Energies at INETI, the National Institute of Engineering and Industrial Technology. The focus of this paper is on the legislative and regulatory frameworks of the Portuguese government, pertaining to solar thermal technology, and their effect on the industry and its market.

Morocco Country Paper in the Field of Certification and Standardization of SWHs (2009)

Two representatives of the CDER (Moroccan Centre for the Development of Renewable Energies) gave a presentation during the Regional Workshop on SWH Certification and Standardization organised by RCREEE (Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency).

The presentation provided an overview of the certification and standardisation processes and authorities in Morocco. The local governments are trying to increase the use of the renewable energy sources. It is expected that 42% of electricity will be generated from renewable energy sources, from which 14% solar, by 2020

Well-known specialists from Germany, Denmark, France and USA will share their insights.
