Energy Revolution: A Sustainable Latin America Energy Outlook (2007)
This report, produced by Greenpeace International and EREC (European Renewable Energy Council), explores possible scenarios of energy use in Latin America.
The report develops a sustainable energy pathway up to 2050, including energy technologies such as solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, among others.
Nowadays, renewable energy sources account for 27% of Latin America’s primary energy demand. Biomass is used for heating and constitutes the main renewable energy source, followed by hydro power.

EREC 2011 – Europe’s Renewable Energy Policy Conference in Brussels
Europe’s Renewable Energy Policy Conference, EREC, is going to take place in Brussels on 24 May 2011. The 4th Biannual Edition is a discussion forum for the European renewable energy industry, and favours interactions with the European Parliament, as well the new European Commission. The conference will provide a reality check on the 2010 White Paper Targets for Renewable Energy Sources, debate the implementation of the Renewable Energy Directive, and outline Europe’s energy pathway to 2050.
Solar Industrial Process Heat - State of the Art (2006)
This is a report prepared in the framework of the Intelligent Energy Europe project Key Issues for Renewable Heat in Europe (K4RES-H).
The report focuses on solar heat for industrial processes (SHIP), the current market status and potential, the identified barriers to growth and proposed recommendations. A selection of demonstration projects is also provided.
Solar heat for industrial processes is not yet a very developed technology, but among the various solar thermal applications, its potential is noteworthy.
European Solar Days: Around 6,600 Events in 17 European Countries

Malta: Solar Water Heaters used by half of the Households by 2020
The Malta Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energies Association (M.E.E.R.E.A.) has taken on the drafting of the roadmap to ensure the future development of renewable energy sources on the sunny island in the Mediterranean Sea. M.E.E.R.E.A. is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation established in June 2001.
Greece: A newly founded and independent Energy Ministry heads the drafting of NREAP
Some recent personnel changes taken by the new Greek government makes you optimistic about the future of renewable energy policy in Greece. First, the government appointed Prof. Arthouros Zervos, long-term President of the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC) and the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA), CEO of state-controlled Public Power Corporation (PPC), the country’s biggest electricity provider.
REPAP 2020: Implementation of the RES-Directive at National Level (2009)
Christine Lins, Secretary General of EREC, made this presentation during a workshop, organised by ESTIF, in Brussels, on the RES Directive implementation.
The presentation provides an overview of the RES Directive and the measures national authorities have to put in place to comply with the legislation, this is, the national renewable energy action plans (NREAPs). Related to this, the presentation also outlines the main objectives of the project REPAP, created to facilitate the process of implementation of the RES Directive on a national level
