Interstate Renewable Energy Council
U.S. Solar Market Trends (2011)
This report summarizes the economic and installation trends of the US solar energy market in 2010, focusing on solar thermal, concentrated solar power (CSP) and photovoltaic. The report is published annually by the Interstate Renewable Energy Council.
U.S. Solar Market Trends 2009 (2010)
This report was written by Larry Sherwood for the Interstate Renewable Energy Council. It provides information on new solar installations in the US in 2009.
The report examines and analyses the market for various solar energy technologies by state. It focuses on PV, solar thermal heating, and concentrated solar power.
2009 Updates and Trends – IREC
This report was from the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) Annual Meeting in October, 2009. The report is broken down to cover state incentives & policy trends, solar installation trends, net metering & interconnection updates & trends, and workforce development and training.
IREC – Updates and Trends (2007)
This article was put out by the Interstate Renewable Energy Council in 2007. It highlights some of the new policy developments that are particularly important for advancing solar markets, including renewable portfolio standards, rebates and other direct incentives, tax credits, net metering and solar rights laws.
IREC – 2006 Annual Report
This is a 2006 summary by the US Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC). It gives highlights in spending, incentives and rebate programs for solar thermal energy and solar PV systems.
U.S. Solar Thermal Training Programs for the Future – (Presented to the U.S. House of Representatives) (2007)
This is a testimony by Jane M. Weissman, executive director of the Interstate Renewable Energy Council presented to the House of Representatives. Weissman discusses education and training programs to facilitate the adoption of solar technology moving forward.
Within the testimony, it is estimated by the US Department of Energy that as many as 5,000 trained installers may be needed by 2015 just to accomplish their new Solar America Initiative.
IREC Solar Market Trends for 2007
The Interstate Renewable Energy Council released in August 2008 the Larry Sherwood's U.S. Solar Market Trends for 2007.
This report provides data on U.S. solar installations by technology, state, and market sector. It covers photovoltaics, solar thermal electric, solar hot water and space heating — including pool heating.
In particular the report points out that solar hot water installations (low-temperature thermal) have boomed as a result of an increase in the federal investment tax credit.
