Pool Heating Process
This article (in Spanish) explains the advantages of using solar thermal energy to pool heating, providing also practical advices to buy solar heating systems. Pool heating consists on applying heat energy to water to make the temperature rise up to around 24-27° C degrees, which would be impossible to achieve naturally. As heating pools with conventional fossil energy sources requires big amounts of fuel, many countries only allow the use of RES. In Mexico, for instance, pool heating is the most popular solar application. The document exposes the basic principles of pool heating. Something to bear in mind is that water retains heat more than any other substance, but needs more amount of energy in order to remain hot. Compared with air, water needs about 5 times more energy to rise 1° C degree in temperature.
