Solar Energy in Barcelona. The Solar Thermal Ordinance (2007)
This report prepared by the Polytechnic University in Catalunya gives the reader a complete overview of the Barcelona solar thermal ordinance, created in 2000, and the role of the Barcelona City Council in this regard.
The document covers the Spanish energy situation and existing legal framework, before the ordinance was put in place. It also includes a section detailing the solar ordinance (the target buildings, the applications, the technical specifications and requirements, etc), its implementation and a preliminary evaluation of the results and impact on environment as well as the socio-economic changes that resulted from it.
