Sustainable Solar Thermal Strategy for Lebanon – Case Study (2007)
This presentation, prepared by Anwar Ali of the LCECP (Lebanese Centre for Energy Conservation, was presented during the workshop in Syria: “Political & Economic Framework Conditions for EE & RE in Buildings”.
The presentation explores the example of Lebanon and the efforts made to develop a sustainable solar thermal strategy in the country. Some of the technical points identified as priority were: undertake market study (current & future); adoption of Lebanese solar thermal standards; investments in certifications & labeling through testing facilities; increase capacity building (manufacturing & installation); launch national awareness campaign as well as donations' raising campaigns; kick off of pilot solar projects.
