Solar Hot Water Feasibility Study for St. Norbert College (2005)

Submitted by Todd Costello on Mon, 03/08/2010 - 16:29.

This report was prepared by Solar Mining Company and funded by the Wisconsin Focus on Energy Program. St. Norbert College is located on the Fox River in De Pere, Wisconsin. At the time of this report, they had a district hot water network that uses two separate heating plants, and buildings at the end of this water system experience a loss of hot water during peak demands.
Solar Mining Company conducted a study for the installation of a solar hot water system for the college along the system to compensate for standby losses and potentially eliminate the loss of hot water during peak demands.
It explains the buildings that the solar energy systems would be installed, with solar collector size capacity, and gives the estimated therms of energy output. It also has details about the solar system cost and cost-savings over the next 20 years.
The report ends with site layout and piping design for the solar system.
