- The Market Potential of Micro-CHCP (2009)-
This is a study assessing the market potential of small scale Combined Heating Cooling and Power (CHCP) in several European countries (Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland). The study is one of the final deliverables of the PolySMART Project (POLYgeneration with advanced small and medium scale thermally driven air-conditioning and refrigeration technology), an integrated project partly funded by the European Commission under 6th Framework Programme.
- Solar Heating and Cooling of Buildings (2007)-
This document includes detailed information about solar heating and cooling technologies for buildings. The document is one of the deliverables of the BRITA in PuBs project (Bringing Retrofit Innovation to Application in Public Buildings). This FP6 funded project involves different countries (Norway, Denmark, Italy, Greece, Germany, UK, Lithuania and Czech Republic). The aim is to develop demonstration projects in selected public buildings to demonstrate how renewable energies could be used.
- Solar Thermal Energy in Mexico (2010)-
This report has been arranged by the TECH4DCM project which is financed by the European Union (EU) FP6 (Sixth Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development). This EU Project focuses on promoting solar thermal energy and is being carried out in five countries; Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru. The project’s primary goal is the promotion of renewable and efficient energy technologies, paying special attention to overcoming technological barriers.
- PV-Thermal Roadmap (2006)-
This is a guide for the development and market introduction of PV-Thermal (PVT) technology in Europe. The guide is one of the deliverables of the PVT Forum project, part of the EU-supported project PV-Catapult, a Coordination Action within the 6th Framework Programme. PVT technology is a solar energy device using PV as a thermal absorber. By using the heat generated in the PV, a PVT device generates not only electrical, but also thermal energy.
- Potential Demonstration Sites for Wind and CSP Projects (2009)-
The REMAP Project (Action Plan for High Priority Renewable Energy Initiatives in Southern and Eastern Mediterranean Area) is a two years initiative funded under the European Commission FP6 with the goal of investigating two electricity generation technologies: wind power and concentrated solar power, in nine European and Mediterranean countries (Algeria, Belgium, England, France, Germany, Jordan, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey).

- Potential Analysis for a New Generation of Solar Thermal Systems in the Southern Mediterranean Countries (2007)-
This document is one of the deliverables of the Solarterm Project. The project, funded by the European Commission 6th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development, gathers 18 partners including eight southern Mediterranean countries (Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Territories, Syria, Tunisia) and the five EU countries (Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Malta and Spain). The objective of the project is to boost the use of solar thermal and cooling systems in the southern Mediterranean countries.
- Commitments Toward Wind and Energy Concentrated Solar Thermal Energy Integration in Algeria, Jordan, Tunisia and Turkey (2009)-

- Basic Information for Solar Thermal CDM Project Development in Chile (2009)-
The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) was create in the framework of the Kyoto Protocol to stimulate the development of CO2 emission-reduction projects in developing countries which then receive certified emission reduction (CER) credits, each equivalent to one tonne of CO2. These CER can then be traded and sold, and used by industrialized countries to a meet a part of their emission reduction targets under the Kyoto Protocol.
- Combined Heating, Cooling and Power Generation in the Small Capacity Range (2009)-
This brochure explains the objectives of the PolySMART Project (POLYgeneration with advanced small and medium scale thermally driven air-conditioning and refrigeration technology), an integrated project partly funded by the European Commission under 6th Framework Programme. The project started in 2006 and lasted four years and had as objective to promote and facilitate the market penetration of these technologies, by demonstrating the cost-effective and environmentally friendly solutions it provides.
- Concentrating Solar Power from Research to Implementation - This document from 2007, released by the European Commission, refers projects, financed under the 6th EU Research Framework Programme (FP6), to boost the use of solar power technologies in Europe, as a part of the EU’s goal of achieving 20% share of renewable energies inits overall energy consumption by 2020 and a minimum 10% share of biofuels in overall EU transport petrol and diesel consumption by 2020. Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) is a clean energy that can help the EU to meet this 20% goal.
- NEGST - New Generation of Solar Thermal Systems Project- The NEGST project, in place from 2004 to 2007, was created to introduce more cost-effective solar thermal systems, especially for domestic hot water preparation and / or space heating, in the European market, with a view to achieve the EU’s goals in terms of CO2 emissions reductions and boost the use of renewable energies.
- Framework Conditions for Solar Thermal Energy Use in the Southern Mediterranean Countries-
SOLATERM is a project funded by the EU 6th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP6).
This 2007 report provides a very good overview of the market situations in the 8 participating Mediterranean countries. It is a very useful document for policy-makers wanting an overview of recent legislative frameworks, financial incentives and market potential for growth.
- HIGH-COMBI Project - High Solar Fraction Heating & Cooling Systems with Combination of Innovative Components & Methods (2007)-
This document provides information on building types and climates of the countries involved in the EU project HighCombi. The HighCombi project was launched in 2007 with a two-year duration and aims at the development and demonstration of solar thermal heating and cooling systems with high solar fraction. Co-funded by the European Commission, within the Sixth Framework Programme (2002-2006), the project consortium involves twelve partners from six European countries (Greece, Spain, Italy, Romania, Germany and Austria).
