- Solar Energy for Heating Water in Urban Areas of Egypt (2003)-
This document provides an overview of a project financed under UN GEF Small Grants Programme to boost the use of solar thermal water heating in remote areas of Egypt. The project resulted on the installation of 164 water heaters, reaching 3,790 people, in poor villages and neighborhoods surrounding El Menia, a city in Upper Egypt.
- World Bank/GEF solar home system projects:experiences and lessons learned 1993–2001- Twelve projects provide energy services to off-grid rural households in developing countries by enhancing markets for solar home systems and by removing barriers to their dissemination. - SOLARGE ROMA - Activities for spreading large solar thermal systems- The province of Rome implemented a promotional campaign for large-scale solar thermal plants in partnership with the SOLARGE project (co-financed by the European Commission in the framework of Intelligent Energy Europe).
