  • Germany: District Heating Companies encourage Customers to feed in Solar Heat-

     District Heating Project in Hamburg Wilhelmsburg In Hamburg in northern Germany, two district heating providers encourage their customers to supply the companies' networks with heat generated from individually owned solar collectors or other renewable sources. E.On Hanse Wärme offers to store heat for a fee, whereas Hamburg Energie buys renewable heat for a fixed price per kWh.

     Large Solar Thermal Installation in Sweden In Sweden, it is not uncommon to feed solar heat into district heating networks. “After a bit of persuasion, most district heating companies will agree to buy the heat, but the prices they pay for it will differ a lot,” Gunnar Lennermo says. Lennermo works as a consultant for Energianalys and helps his customers with planning and constructing large solar installations.
