RENAC
- TREE seminar on financing Projects in Abu Dhabi and South Africa-
The three speakers for the two-day workshop in Abu Dhabi (from left): Riadh Bhar (Ecofys Germany), Uli Jakob (Solem Consulting) and Rainer Schmidt (TST-C Thomas Schmidt Consultants GmbH) had extensive discussions with the participants about project design and financing of renewable energy systems in the field of solar cooling, solar process heat, photovoltaics and energy efficiency in buildings.

Spaces are still available to participate in the seminar ‘*Solar thermal for hot water and space heating*’ taking place from the *08.11- 12.11.2010* at the Renewables Academy in Berlin Germany under "*TREE - Transfer Renewable Energy & Efficiency"* scholarship project .
- RENAC – Solar Thermal Heating and Cooling by the Sun (2010)-
This report was prepared by the Renewables Academy (RENAC) in 2010. The paper starts out with a short summary on fossil fuels, and the future transition away from them as more evidence of their repercussions on greenhouse effect.
The answer is solar thermal. It gives background on the use of solar thermal energy and how it works. It has a chart of annual irradiated energy received by different regions of the Earth, which correlates with how much kWh a region yields for solar thermal energy.
- South Africa: Unit Standards and the Need for Training-
When it comes to installing solar thermal systems, skilled workers are still rare in South Africa – a fact that the training centre WaterSmith tries to change. The training facility is offering its first solar water heater courses.

The TREE Project (Transfer Renewable Energy & Efficiency), run by the Renewables Academy (RENAC) in Berlin aims to promote capacity building and know-how transfer in renewable energies (RE), energy efficiency (EE) and climate protection for both decision makers from politics and business, as well as technicians and engineers in emerging countries.
- Master Programme on Global Production Engineering for Solar Technology (2009-2010)-
The Technical University of Berlin launched in 2008 a two-year Master Programme on solar energy - Global Production Engineering for Solar Technology in cooperation with RENAC – Renewables Academy. The degree programme was conceived for engineers who want to build a career in the production, management or engineering of solar technologies. With the rapid and dynamic growth that the solar industry has known in the last years, the investment in qualified labor force in solar technologies becomes more and more essential.
