Solar Thermal Systems Survey for the Lebanese Market (2006)

Submitted by Hans Craen on October 12, 2009

This is a survey conducted by the Lebanese Solar Energy Society (LSES) which concentrates on the collection of data from companies, products and applications of solar thermal systems in order to establish a standard for Lebanese solar thermal systems and to assess the Lebanese market supply capabilities. The survey is the first step of a project between the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW).

In 2006, the Lebanese market listed less than 120,000m² of solar collectors installed and presented an annual growth of 20% with an estimated possible target of 2 millions m². The survey concludes with recommendations to prepare a Solar Collector Standard valid for flat plate and evacuated tube collectors.
