Solar Thermal Systems – For Domestic Hot Water (2011)

Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on May 30, 2015

This document was created by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. It extols on the benefits of solar thermal system usage for NY state residents in their homes, and provides resources for consumers to learn more about systems.

The document states that the costs saved on hot water heating and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions displaced by the use of a solar thermal system in and of themselves are a net benefit to homeowners and the communities in which they reside. Some potential barriers to deployment that the brochure cites are unideal climate settings and the upfront installation costs. The document ends with examples of various links to government information on solar thermal.
