Poland: Municipality Programme Aims to Reduce Local Air Pollution

On 1 March, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) announced a five-year subsidy scheme for municipalities with more than 10,000 inhabitants, which suffer from air pollution caused by coal-driven burners in residential buildings. The government has yet to publish the application periods, as well as the programme’s technical and financial requirements.
