The Brazilian Energy Initiative (2002)

Submitted by Raquel Ponte Costa on June 20, 2015

After the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) in Johannesburg, August 26-September 4, 2002, Professor José Goldemberg wrote this text to hit on a main point; renewable energy is a basic ingredient for sustainable development.

He writes a bit about the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development) and compares OECD countries’ energy habits with those of other countries.  He also points out problems with the proposal set forth at the WSSD and has numerous graphs to help analyze most given data.
